Report by Paola Prada

For the Brazilian Juniors we had 42 junior sailors from 8 different sailing venues of the country, the champion is the oldest junior sailor, Antonio Carlos Lopes turning 21 in March, and the youngest is Frederico Francavilla that turned 12 last September.

After 2 days of light winds and no regattas, on the last day of the Brazilian Junior Nationals we were able to realize 3 regatas, and validate the championship that was the selective for the junior worlds! The championship separated from the Nationals was a very interesting experience as almost all of these sailors usually crew to senior snipe sailors, and a couple come from other classes as 420 and laser. Having all these young sailors together motivates them a lot. (Usually the junior title in Brazil is decided in the same regatas as the open nationals, and having their own regata, even with light wind conditions was very good for their integration).
