Plan Ahead for Serious Sailing, Serious Fish at the Snipe New Englands

Henry Pryzdial is not a Snipe sailor. In fact he thinks the whole lot of us "blow boaters" are just plain crazy. Henry organizes the big Haddock Dinner at Jubilee Yacht Club each summer. When we started running the Snipe New England Championships back in 2008, we purposely timed it to align with his dinner... and for the past five years, we've successfully combined Serious Sailing with Serious Fish Eating. When we had to change our date for this year to accommodate the Snipe Nationals, Henry did not want us to miss out. Without hesitation he changed the date of his dinner to Saturday, July 13, because without the Snipe fleet, "It would not be as much fun."

Henry Pryzdial is not a Snipe sailor. In fact he thinks the whole lot of us “blow boaters” are just plain crazy. Henry organizes the big Haddock Dinner at Jubilee Yacht Club each summer. When we started running the Snipe New England Championships back in 2008, we purposely timed it to align with his dinner… and for the past five years, we’ve successfully combined Serious Sailing with Serious Fish Eating.

When we had to change our date for this year to accommodate the Snipe Nationals, Henry did not want us to miss out. Without hesitation he changed the date of his dinner to Saturday, July 13, because without the Snipe fleet, “It would not be as much fun.”

Old Man serves Cuban food, Winchester serves BBQ, Medford serves Chinese, and in Beverly, Massachusetts, we serve a nice fresh Haddock dinner. Henry would not have it any other way.

By the way, we will also be running a very good regatta that weekend. We will try to get between 8-12 races in over 2 days with plenty of free housing and lots of other fun. For you southerners, come to Beverly and experience our brand of North Shore hospitality. We will even store your boats so you have a “quick” drive to Nationals.

In addition to Henry and the JYC officers, committees and members we need to thank the fine folks in the Winchester fleet. They were very kind in letting us borrow their date to accommodate our event and the busy schedules.

Plan on coming to Beverly on the way to Nationals. For more information, get in touch with Shan McAdoo (978) 302 1176 or r19slr at yahoo.com. You can also check us out on the web at http://snipefleet554.org
