Objective:
To constitute a Women’s Committee
Duties of the Committee:
– a) proactive: the Women’s Committee will formulate proposals to be submitted to the Board or give guidance about projects concerning women activities and regattas;
– b) advisory: the Board and the Technical Committee may seek advice and consult with the Women’s Committee;
– c) communication: The Committee communicate with female members, encouraging debate, dialogue, exchange of ideas and information through the site SnipeToday, specific mailing lists and groups on facebook;
– d) reports: the Committe will report to the Board about its activity;
– e) Women’s Committee is responsible for:
- othe selection of the Snipe Women’s World Championship (or Snipe Women’s Championship) dates;
- orecruit club/venues to bid for the regatta;
- oreview and choose bids;
- oforward one or more bids to the Board for the final vote;
- opromote the Championship;
– f) invite women from within the class and from other classes to participate not only in Snipe Women’s World Championship (or Snipe Women’s Championship) but also in other Snipe events.

The official racing sailing season of this Association shall extend for the full twelve months of the year starting on January 1st and ending on December 31st.

Regatta Conditions :“Rules for Conducting National and International Regattas”
1. Held every 2 years in even numbered years
2. Nine or eleven races, depending on local conditions, of the official SCIRA courses published in the current Rulebook or the SCIRA Official Web Site (www.snipe.org). Races shall be managed to last approximately 60-75 minutes. A different time used to complete the race will not be grounds for protest. If six to eight races are completed, the worst race shall be dropped, including a disqualification.
3. Three races shall constitute a regatta.
4. No races to be started if wind velocity exceeds 18 knots prior to preparatory signal.
5. The regatta venue shall be approved at a National Secretaries meeting The Women’s Committee is responsible for recruitment of the regatta dates /venues and forward one or more bids to the Board for final vote.
6. Skippers may choose to use their own boats. However, the regatta-organizing country shall attempt to provide boats for those who represent countries where shipping their boats is difficult.

Section 33. Standing Committees
The Commodore shall appoint members to the serve on the following standing committees: Long Range Planning, and Promotion. and Women’s Committee (including women possibly from all continents and one junior representative).
Reasons:
to hear the voice of the women members to improve the activity of promotion, the organization of women’s events, particularly the Women’s World Championship, communication among women sailors.
