Rule Change Proposal: 24-20 Class Rules F3.3 mast weight

We don´t have a way to know the year of the mast. There is no serial number. I don´t see any problem with the current system (total weight and MOI).

The tube weight is an important safety rule to prevent weak masts and is the best way to check the true mast construction. I would suggest to change the proposed text to “the bare mast tube including the heel fitting and the halyards only”.
The serial number is not so important. Of course, the rule should be effective from January 1st, 2025 (not 2024) so that a simple engraving (or any other suitable system) of the manufacturing year would be enough.
On the other hand, this rule adds some complication during inspection controls as it would be necessary to remove all fittings and riggings. In some cases, not so easy.
