#8653 Texan II
1951 Clark Mills Snipe #8653 “Texan II” originally owned by 1956 SCIRA Commodore Harold Gilreath Sr. and now owned by Michael Jones of Clearwater Florida and McKay Creek Boat Shop at Heritage Village in Largo Florida. Rebuilt and restored after fire damage at McLaughlin Boat Works by Joe Norton of Green Lake Wisconsin.

This is the first Snipe I ever sailed on, crewing for Harold in the summer of 1950 in a club race that we won. I was 14 and afterwards Harold apologized for some of his language (none of which was directed at me!).
