Too Many Honors for my Poor Merit

Just two months ago I had the honor of receiving from Commodore Rakocy’ the title of Honorary Vice Commodore of the SCIRA and now, the privilege of entering the Hall of Fame of this Institution along with the most important people who have passed through SCIRA since its creation in 1932, too much for me!!!

There have been many signs of affection received from my friends and many others whom, although I barely know, I also consider them that way, because due to my activity over so many years in measurements they do know me.

THANK YOU ALL for letting me enjoy doing all this that I like so much with you, sailing on this wonderful boat… and measuring your boats.

THANKS ALSO to the Board members and nomination committees who have made this possible, as those who know me know well how happy this makes me after 58 years sailing in the Snipe, and the last 40 of them dedicated to measurements and being part of the Board of the Class in Spain.

I don’t know if my merits deserve the honors that SCIRA has given me, but I am certain that fortunately, there are many other members of the Snipe Class with equal or greater merits than me, who unfortunately will not obtain them.

DEMASIADOS HONORES PARA MIS POBRES MERITOS

Hace apenas dos meses tuve el honor de recibir de manos del Comodoro Rakocy’ el título de Vice comodoro Honorifico de la SCIRA y ahora, el privilegio de entrar en el salón de la fama de esta Institución junto a los más importantes personajes que han pasado por la SCIRA desde su creación en 1932 ¡¡¡ demasiado para mí !!!

Son muchas las muestras de cariño recibidas de mis amigos y de otros muchos a los que, aunque a apenas conozco, también así los considero, ya que por mi actividad a lo largo de tantos años en las mediciones ellos sí que me conocen. 

GRACIAS A TODOS, gracias a todos por haberme dejado disfrutar haciendo con vosotros lo que tanto me gusta, navegar en este maravilloso barco… y medir los vuestros.  

GRACIAS TAMBIEN a los miembros del board y comités de nominaciones que han hecho esto posible, los que me conozcan saben bien lo feliz que esto me hace despues de 58 años navegando en snipe, los últimos 40 de ellos dedicados a la medición e integrado en el grupo directivo de la Clase en España.

No se si mis méritos merecen los honores que la SCIRA me ha dado, pero tengo la certeza de que afortunadamente, hay muchos otros miembros de la Clase Snipe con iguales o mayores méritos que yo, que lamentablemente no los obtendrán.
