Last weekend was a long weekend for us, we had 3 days of regatas at the Guarapiranga Reservoir in São Paulo, the São Paulo Sailing Week 2017.

It was our first championship with our “brand new” boat, BERMUDA 12.108, yes, a extremely well preserved Lineburger snipe from the 1959 worlds.

There is the whole story of this boat on our blog but to make it short: It was love at first sight, I started to sail a snipe again this year with my friend Georgia Bruder, and this boat showed up on sale and I decided it needed to be sailed more often (and not left outside the water for show as an historic piece) this wooden boat has a soul that deserves to be in every possible regata, so we started to update little details, very small ones, as said, the boat was in perfect state of preservation!

Coming back to the beginning of the story, the 21st was a windy day with 20knots gust, we were sailing in a conservative way, but hiking hard, we are tough snipe Divas!

Mid way upwind my hiking stripes started to escape from the clamcleat (we hadn’t changed this cable and it was stressed). I pressed it back on place once, twice, three times… it was hard to do it upwind with that kind of wind and I was planning on making a knot once we were going downwind to have a safer regata. Then the official photographer for the race series showed up, super nice guy, I told my crew, lets hike hard so that he can get a good picture of us… placed my feet under the stripe, the stripe loosened, and then you have this incredible photo sequence!!!

It's great to see a classic Snipe so well taken care of and, better yet seeing it sailed! Obrigada Paola
