US Snipe Class To Host Clinics and Educational Events Leading Up To Quantum US Snipe Nationals

In the interest of growing the Snipe class and expanding the skills of current members, the US Class plans to host clinics and pre-event learning sessions leading up to the US Nationals in July. These will be offered in borrowed boats, with the intention that any racing sailor may join. Star World Champion, Snipe expert and Quantum Pro, George Szabo, says, “Quantum is excited to continue and expand our support of the Snipe class. We hope that these events will help this year’s Nationals achieve a record number of boats, and introduce the Snipe to more sailors.”

Fleet 554 is pleased to present the following events:

  • Snipe 101 Clinic, June 29-30. Star World Champion, Snipe specialist and Quantum Expert, George Szabo, will host a two-day clinic at Winchester Boat Club. Contact Jim Bowers at james.bowers1 “at” verizon dot net for more information and registration.

Jubilee Yacht Club is hosting the US Snipe Nationals in Beverly, MA from July 18-21, 2019. Beverly is located 10 miles northeast of Boston, adjacent to the historic witches of Salem and fishermen of Gloucester. Waters and air will be warm and the typical 6-12 knot southeast sea breeze and tricky tidal currents are sure to challenge all competitors.

Quantum US Snipe Nationals is open to any Snipe sailor. Shan McAdoo, Captain of Fleet 554 says, “The event organizers and the class leadership are committed to getting any interested sailors on the water in competitive boats, we invite you to join us.”
