Rules Changes – Submitted Proposals

According to the Decision Making Process, Rules changes can be submitted (only by National Secretaries, the Rule Committe, the SCIRA Board or 5 Fleet Captains) up to 1st March. All proposals will be published at the Spring Snipe Bulletin and on www.snipe.org website. The period from March to June will be used for public discussion and also for the Rules Committee recommendations. The Board will vote all submission on July. 15-02 - I agree with the advantages of 4 legs (finishing downwind as an option) as outlined in the proposal
15-04 - Agree
15-05 - Disagree. Able to race wind speed depends upon many variables than just wind speed. Protected and less waves venues can have a higher wind cut off than unprotected, wavy venues.
15-07 - Disagree. Leave the rule alone just in case ever needed.
15-11 - Disagree as too onerous. If the Z flag is used properly including writing the offending boat numbers on the stern of the RC boat as each start is attempted, with or without general recalls, but no postponements, then the U flag is unnecessary.
