Restoration of 1947 Snipe #6715 “Tiger” Complete (Well, Mostly)‏

This is my Christmas present 2013, the Snipe restoration is mostly complete. Just floorboard panel, some rigging and setup and hardware installation are left to do – plus the shark mouth graphics on the bow and boat name graphics on the foredeck. See attached photos of the end result. Looks “cleaner” than most modern Snipes due to not incorporating all the underdeck and double ended control lines. The orange-yellow hull color is a custom-mix paint color that simulates the appearance of varnished cedar, and the deck color is a light cream color which appears almost white in these photos.

Structural restoration was done by the owner with assistance by a skilled boatbuilding student at Bates Technical College (Tacoma, Washington USA), with decking installation, epoxy-fiberglassing, finishing trim work, hardware installation and painting by master wooden boatbuilder/restorer Tom Regan at Grapeview Point Boat Works (Allyn, Washington USA). The boat restoration shop has a FaceBook page.
