The final (and highly anticipated) international event of the 2025 Snipe Class season will be the popular Master Worlds, set against the spectacular backdrop of Frutillar, Chile.

Skippers and crews from around the globe will gather from December 6 to December 12, 2025, for an unforgettable blend of competitive sailing and South American scenery.

The Venue: Frutillar

The regatta takes place in the Los Lagos Region, a stunning area often considered the gateway to Chilean Patagonia. This vast region’s wild was famously captured by Bruce Chatwin:

“Patagonia! It is a difficult mistress. It casts its spell. It is a siren! It clasps you in its arms and never lets you go.” — Bruce Chatwin, In Patagonia

Frutillar is a city and commune located in southern Chile’s Lake District on Lake Llanquihue, the largest lake located entirely within Chile.

The Los Lagos Region (including cities like Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, and Frutillar) is famous for its alpine-lacustrine scenery, dominated by massive volcanoes, including the Osorno Volcano.

The view from Frutillar’s shore is often described as one of “almost perfect absurdity: a Bavarian village overlooking a Japanese volcano, in the heart of Southern Chile.” This describes the beautiful contrast between the German colonial architecture and the striking, Fuji-like peak of the Osorno.

Master Spirit: Serious Sailing, Serious Fun

Master regattas are highly popular because they perfectly embody the true spirit of the Snipe Class—“Serious Sailing, Serious Fun”—with an emphasis on camaraderie and the social aspect of the sport.

The event has attracted a strong international fleet of 52 boats representing 10 nations.
