2025 Comodoro Rasco Regatta

The 2025 Comodoro Rasco Snipe Regatta, stop #2 on the winter circuit, had a record turn-out of 34 boats from Brazil, Argentina, Maryland, Massachusetts, California, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Florida and Texas. 13 teams from the Miami Snipe Fleet competed in the regatta. Despite challenging and
sometimes frustrating sailing conditions, many travelers were just happy to bask in the Miami sunshine, far away from the recent frigid temperatures in the northern parts of the US.

Principal Race Officer Nancy Rogachenko held two races in light winds on Saturday February 1. Saturday evening featured a terrific Cuban dinner which was cooked (from scratch!) in the CGSC kitchen. Three more races were held on Sunday in equally light conditions. The
following winners were announced at the Awards:

1st place – Ernesto Rodriguez & Taylor Scheuermann
2nd place – Arthur Blodgett & Grace Howie 
3rd place – Peter Commette & Bruno Mello 
Top Women’s Team – Carol Cronin & Kim Couranz
Aicardi (newcomer) award – Jeff Hayden & Laura Varela

Per tradition, the sailors sang “La Bomba Va” while the winners drank! A big thanks to the Race Committee Staff at Coconut Grove Sailing Club for another great regatta.
