CPYC Snipe A/B Regatta

Winthrop, MA, USA June 19, 2022

Snipe Fleet 244 and Cottage Park Yacht Club, Winthrop MA, USA (host of the 2021 Snipe Western Hemisphere and Orient Championships) hosted the first annual two-division regatta on June 18-19, 2022. The event format was modeled after college fleet racing regattas with two divisions and short course racing which contributed to close to 3/4s of the sailors being “U-30”s. The organizers’ goal was to introduce sailors to the Snipe class via a familiar format and a fun, social regatta. There was no shortage of breeze during the event. The RC ran triangle courses on Saturday and windward-leeward courses on Sunday, giving everyone a chance to rip around and test their pole reaching skills. Saturday night we enjoyed a taco bar and candlepin bowling at Cottage Park YC. Snipe Fleet 244 is excited to ride the momentum from this event and welcome new sailors to the Snipe!
