Anzio: finally!

After the bigger series of canceled races ever seen in this part of the Universe from the fallen of Western Roman Empire, the Italian IV District Snipe Winter Championship, hosted by Anzio LNI and started last October with only one race held till two weeks ago, finally started for real with 3 races in a day, Thanks God!!

Great conditions indeed: 10kt SE breeze up to 16kt at the end of the day, bright sun, a little cold, and the usual bloody choppy wave, typical of the Anzio Gulf during a Low Pressure system fly-by!

It’s been quite unbelievable race after almost 3 moths of cancellations, so all the crews really hope to go straight to the end of the championship without any other weather mess.

With only 4 races, the rank is quite short still, but the availability of Hosting Club gives us the opportunity to recover large part of the races, till next 24th March, starting day of our District Championship (usually sailed during summer season).

At this moment leads the pack our Andrea Sparrow Lubrano with Maurizio Vivian (from Lake Bracciano, next European Master Championship location!), which found themselves pretty comfortable (and fast!) in breeze and choppy sea (Sparrow weighs 101kg.. he swears that, but he’s a liar as he’s fat!), as the 1-1-2 scores in the last three races point out!
So the light-breeze expected for the next regatta (on Saturday 2th March) could re-open everything: light-weighed crews seek for their revenge, Andrea and Maurizio will have some bad-moment probably (let’s hope!).
