During 2025, the Chairman of the Technical Committee reported a number of issues contained in several Deeds of Gift approved last year.
Most of the problems concern inconsistencies with certain World Sailing regulations or repetitions of rules already present in the Rules of Conduct.
With regard to the DoG for the World Championship, two typos were reported relating to the number of participants.
In some DoGs, a rule was added that changed the eligibility criteria, altering the original spirit of the DoG.
All these errors will be corrected during the next Board meetings to be in force beginning 2026, according to the Constitution.
Much more significant was what happened with the DoG for the World Masters Championship, which will be held in December in Frutilar, Chile. The DoG with the changes approved by the Board was published without the prior agreement of SCIRA Canada, as required.
For this reason, the published DoG is invalid and the previous one remains in force, now available at the URL https://www.snipe.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Id-Crook-World-Masters-Championship_2021-final-4.pdf.
The Master World Championship Notice of Race will also be amended accordingly with regard to eligibility, the number of races and discards. This will not result in any changes for competitors already registered.
