Racing was cancelled today for the 2012 Snipe Western Hemisphere & Orient Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thunder and lightning rumbled across Buenos Aires with little to no wind to sail. The forecast looks better to continue the Championship on Friday. 3 races are planned for Friday with 2 each Saturday and Sunday. The prizegiving will be held Sunday after racing. ...

Racing was cancelled today for the 2012 Snipe Western Hemisphere & Orient Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thunder and lightning rumbled across Buenos Aires with little to no wind to sail.

The forecast looks better to continue the Championship on Friday. 3 races are planned for Friday with 2 each Saturday and Sunday. The prizegiving will be held Sunday after racing.

About the Snipe:
Hosted by Yacht Club Olivos, this is the 4th time the Snipe Class has returned to Argentina for the championship which has been held since 1950, with the first event held in Havana, Cuba. SCIRA (Snipe Class International Racing Association) is celebrating its 81st year of competition with fleets in 27 countries and over 31,000 boats built.
