Sanremo and Orta, regattas in memory of Danilo D’Isiot
The 2013 Italian Snipe schedule has new events for the Classic Snipes held by the Italian Snipe Class with the support of AYDE (Associazione Italiana Yacht e Derive d’Eopca).
The Circolo Velico Capo Verde with the Yacht Club Sanremo will host two specific regattas for the Classic Snipes: the first one will be on April 20-21.
The events in memory of Danilo D’Isiot continue in Lake Orta, where Circolo Vela Orta host the traditional Coppa D’Isiot on June 8-9. Then again in Sanremo in September.
The events in Sanremo are specific fot the Classic Snipes, while in Orta the regatta is open also to the modern Snipes.

Your Classic Snipe regattas in Italy are way ahead of us in the USA. It is something we would like to do in the USA also, but the Classic Snipes are too scattered around the country to get the boats to participate. Maybe some day we will be able to do this type of event also. There is a re-activated old Snipe Fleet #24 in Santa Monica California USA that is made up of only Classic Snipes, the oldest one in the fleet is #1953 that was built in 1936 and the newest is #12521 built in 1963. The fleet is now relocated nearby to a yacht club in Marina del Ray. John Rose, Tacoma Washington USA.
