Dear Snipe Sailors,

2023 was a year of many global Snipe class regattas. The WH&A championship took place in Chile in March. Later in August, the European Open on Lake Garda, Italy. October includes two events in Spain, the Women’s World Championships in Valencia and the World Masters Championships in Puerto Sherry (Cadiz). Many teams from many countries participated. I hope that all participants can confirm the very good organization of these regattas and the high level of competitors.

As every year, in July the Board voted on several changes to the rules, although I missed the opinion of a wider group of sailors. From March to July 2024, I would like more of you to express your opinions on the proposed changes to the rules.

And what will 2024 be like?

We will start on January 2 in Miami – Junior World Championships with a record number of teams and countries! It’s going to be a good regatta!

I would also like to remind you about the Commodore World Championship – Hub E. Isaacks Trophy in Argentina. Many sailors expressed their willingness to participate in our most prestigious event in the world.

I would also like to mention the John Broughton European Cup which will be held in the UK (August 15-18).

I wish all Snipe sailors and our supporters good luck in the New Year 2024, fulfillment of dreams and good results in the upcoming season.

Zibi
