Snipe Class Hall of Fame – Nominations are open for 2026

The Snipe Class is proud to announce that the nomination period for the SCIRA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 is now officially open.

The Hall of Fame was established to recognize the individuals whose dedication, achievements, innovation, and service have made an extraordinary and lasting contribution to the Snipe Class. Every year, the Snipe Family has the opportunity to honor those who have helped shape our history both on and off the water.

SCIRA members from around the world are invited to submit nominations in the following three categories:

Sailing

This category recognizes sailors whose competitive achievements, sportsmanship, and commitment to the Snipe Class have left a significant mark on our history. World Champions, outstanding competitors, and individuals whose sailing careers have inspired generations are all eligible for consideration.

Technical – Design

The Technical category honors those whose innovations, technical expertise, and dedication have improved the Snipe Class through boat design, sail development, measurement, rules, race management, or other technical contributions that have benefited the fleet worldwide.

Contributions

Individuals that made significant contributions to the Snipe Class such as a coach, administrator, officer, promoter, organizer, etc whose long-term support and commitment have played a fundamental role in the growth, promotion, and success of the Snipe Class.

The Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors that SCIRA can bestow. Every nomination helps preserve the rich history of our class while ensuring that the remarkable people behind its success receive the recognition they deserve.

If you know someone whose dedication and achievements merit this distinction, we encourage you to prepare and submit a nomination. Comprehensive nominations that clearly document the candidate’s accomplishments and impact on the Snipe Class greatly assist the Hall of Fame Committee during the evaluation process.
