Sunshine, mild temperatures, and wind. The first day of the Women’s European Championship got off to the best possible start.
However, the RC decided to postpone the start due to the dying wind.
The first race therefore started at 2:00 p.m. with the typical Tonsberg thermal wind between 9 and 12 knots from 180 degrees.
Conditions were the same in the second race, with the wind eventually shifting to the right due to a disturbance coming from the northwest.
Given the unfavorable forecast for the coming days, the Race Committee moved up the third race, which was sailed in decreasing winds of 8 to 6 knots from 205 degrees.Defending champion Sara Franceschi, sailing with Silvia Marce Eraso, proved once again to be the strongest in these conditions, securing three first-place finishes.
At the end of the long day of racing, an awards ceremony for the day’s races was held, followed by warm creamy soup for competitors and volunteers
