Coppa Città di Muggia

It was a record this year for a local regatta in the Gulf of Trieste. Two teams were present from neighboring Croatia, our friends Antonio Sepich/Daniel Bradicic and Nikola/Dijana Dešković. Five races were scheduled and completed. The race course was set inside the Vallone di Muggia, right in front of the city. In addition to the Snipes, 420s and Lasers (standard, radial and 4.7) shared the race course.

Results and regatta report
Last weekend twelve Snipes attended the Coppa Città di Muggia. It was a record this year for a local regatta in the Gulf of Trieste. Two teams were present from neighboring Croatia, our friends Antonio Sepich/Daniel Bradicic and Nikola/Dijana Dešković.
Five races were scheduled and completed. The race course was set inside the Vallone di Muggia, right in front of the city. In addition to the Snipes, 420s and Lasers (standard, radial and 4.7) shared the race course.
During the weekend the wind was light at around 5-8 knots, but the course was long enough to allow racing of about 50 minutes.
On Saturday the Rockets dominated, with two firsts and a second. Unfortunately, the first victory turned into OCS.
Sunday after a long match race with Fabio and Daniela Rochelli, both races were won by Pietro Fantoni, with junior Alberto Cassandro as crew.
At the end Fantoni/Cassandro beat out the Rockets. Apostoli/Costantini were third. Federica Wetzl/Federico Maccari showed good tactics and consistent speed upwind, while Nikola/Dijana Dešković were very fast especially on Saturday.
The next event in the Gulf of Trieste will be the Trofeo per Paolo on 19-20 October.
