Mystic Lake Open

Medford, MA, USA, September 21, 2025. The 51st Mystic Lake Open took place on September 20–21, 2025, at the Medford Boat Club on the Mystic Lake. We had a strong turnout with 26 boats, the best in recent memory. Light air and persistent thermals caused delays, but the fleet still completed 6 races in total – 3 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Trevor Long and Corrine Poitras (CPYC) sailed consistently in the deep fleet to win with 9 points, followed by Prior multiple winners Jim Bowers and Julia Marsh Rabin (WBC) in second, and, Just back from winning the Star districts, Steve Braverman with Jack Cariaso (CPYC) in third.

Off the water, the traditional Bocce Tournament was run by Cam and Liz Fraser with Peter Bronk and John MacRae crowned champions. The lake was also shared all weekend with college sailors racing out of the Tufts Bacow Sailing Pavilion, adding fun, and many extra obstacles. Once again, serious sailing and serious fun defined the weekend on Mystic Lake.
