Platak, Croatia, February 6, 2026 – Kostrena, February 7-8, 2026

Last weekend, another edition of the Galeb Sail & Ski Race was successfully held—a unique sporting event that beautifully connects sea and snow, sailors and skiers, and the coastal and mountain regions.

The program began with an evening giant slalom race at Platak, followed by a sailing regatta on Saturday and Sunday off the coast of Kostrena in the Snipe, 420, and Dragon classes. Over two days of racing, competitors faced challenging conditions, with winds of up to 6 knots combined with a strong current, putting both skill and tactical ability to the test.

A special feature of this regatta was the use of the Yardstick handicap system, which ensured fair competition between different classes and added an extra dimension to this traditional event. In the light-wind conditions, the crew of Maglica/Vranić, representing the Snipe class, performed best, securing first place in the overall sailing rankings after corrected times were applied. Second place went to Ružić/Velikić, while De Micheli Vitturi/Polić claimed third, standing out as the regatta’s only all-female team.

The overall winner of the event is determined by combining results from both sailing and skiing, symbolically and competitively uniting the two disciplines. The sailors once again proved their versatility on the snow, as reflected in the combined standings: Ružić/Velikić emerged as the overall winners, with Grabar/Kamber in second place and Manestar/Baotić taking third.

Once again, we witnessed an outstanding sporting event filled with a great atmosphere, fair play, and a strong sense of community. The Galeb Sail & Ski Race has demonstrated yet again how sport can bring together people, regions, and disciplines.

A big thank you to all competitors, organizers, and partners for another unforgettable edition.

See you next year!
