Missouri Valley Championship

Lake Manawa, IA, USA, September 15, 2024. On September 14^th and 15^th, the Iowa-Nebraska Sailing Association (Snipe Fleet #309) hosted the 73d annual Missouri Valley Championship Snipe Regatta at Lake Manawa, Iowa.  

Eighteen boats made the line for both days of racing.

After light and shifty winds day one, followed by perfect 10-15 mph winds on day two, all in attendance gathered for awards and fellowship.   The winners, from Dallas Fleet #1, were Gene Soltero and Laura O’Leary.  

Only a half point separated the winning boat from the second place finishers, Ryan Schubert and Maya Woeger from Longmont, Colorado Fleet #210.  

Third went to Doug Day and Chas Lopata from Lake Lotawana, Missouri Fleet #49.  

Thanks go out to all competitors and our great group of volunteers who managed the regatta and provided the excellent meals and hospitality.
