This regatta demonstrates what makes the Snipe Class the best. The 22 boats had ages from high school to retired. There were married couples, a father-daughter team, a father-son team, a brother-sister team. There were two new boat owners and college sailors in a fleet-loaner boat. We had several boats of ladies getting practice for the US Women’s nationals, and some class leaders who have been in the trophies for years. With all this diversity, there was great competition at all level in the fleet. There was lots of social time at the St. Pete Yacht Club Friday and Saturday evening. Serious sailing, serious fun!
