The third Kvarner Cup – South Europe Summer Circuit is behind us.We had two days of serious sailing and serious fun… I want to thank all of you participating at the regatta and specially to our Italian & Brazilian friends. This year quite different weather conditions from past years with a lot of good winds during Saturday & Sunday.

The third Kvarner Cup – South Europe Summer Circuit is behind us.We had two days of serious sailing and serious fun… I want to thank all of you participating at the regatta and specially to our Italian & Brazilian friends. This year quite different weather conditions from past years with a lot of good winds during Saturday & Sunday.
We all gathered at the club during Friday; the barbecue already started when Pietro, Alexandre, Gabriel and the Rockets came. For some of us the barbecue extended long into the night….)
Saturday brought headache to some and nice Southern winds to all. Before the regatta a nice surprise by Alberto de Paoli & Anna Mosca arriving unannounced which makes the starting line with eleven boats.
Race course was set outside the bay of Omisalj and the first warning signal was given at 13:00. Three nice races where sailed with Alexandre & Gabriel taking the lead with 1,2,1 place. Pietro with his new crew Daniel Bradacic (hold on Marinella! *) finishing second. Bojan and Vlado Grego with same point at third. Reserved sailing from Fabio and Daniela on first day as a worm-up for Sunday’s boom!
Sunday forecast was giving change from Southern winds to “Bora” and it was only a question when will arrive.It came as usual suddenly and strong during the second race of the day. All manage to finish the regatta in one piece but the race committee decided to abandon the race due to change of wind direction which resulted in general outcry. The new start was given inside the bay to conclude the five predicted races. Anyhow the stars of the day have been the “rockets” with big come back winning the both races, and taking the third overall. On the other side Pietro and Daniel have really been unlucky as they managed to finish in front Alexandre and Gabriel after 8 consecutive wins and have won the abandoned race as well but it was not enough for the podium.
