Campionato dell’Adriatico

Chioggia, June 30 – July 1, 2012. Gorgeous summer beach weather greeted 14 teams at the Campionato dell’Adriatico, hosted by the Circolo Nautico Chioggia.

Weekend forecasts for light air surprised on the upside on Saturday with a moderate breeze building over the course of the day. Racing washighly competitive with 1 point separating Pietro Fantoni & Michelle Morphew and Fabio Rochelli & Daniela Semec at the end of the first 3 races.

Sunday greeted the fleet with summer heat and little wind. Swimming was popular as the fleet waited for the wind to build. Once underway, Tom Stahl and Bighin Gianni won the first race of the day by taking an early lead in the light air. The breeze remained light for the final race of the day, leading the race committee to shorten the course, with Fabio Rochelli & Daniela Semec winning the regatta with a tie-breaking first place in the final race.
