Eight Bells: Boris Ostergren

Boris Ostergren passed away yesterday, October 22, 2021. He was Snipe World Champion in 1977 sailing with Ernesto Neugebauer in Denmark. Great sailor and storyteller of the Snipe class in Brazil.

Boris Ostergren left us today. Much more than 1977 World Snipe Champion and Bronze Medal at the Pan American Games, Boris was a great friend and mentor. He dedicated his life to sailing, not only as a sailor, but as a regatta officer participating in the Rio Olympics and director of the Minuano sailing school. He was always teaching us or at least telling us a good story. It’s already been sorely missed”
