The lifeblood of the Snipe Class is the racing activity, even at the most local level.

It’s easy to focus solely on the World or Continental Championships, but we must remember that every small race is a Snipe regatta that counts for promoting the Class. And promoting the Class is our collective, fundamental goal!

The Snipe Class remains one of the most respected and geographically diverse classes in the world of sailing, with active regattas in almost 30 countries and across 4 continents.

Even a small regatta in your club is big for us and fundamental for this purpose.

Why Your Calendar Information is Key

To effectively highlight every activity and showcase the vitality of the Snipe Class, we need your assistance. This is where your critical role as a Secretary comes in.

We are currently compiling the 2026 racing calendar. By centralizing this information, we can:

• Boost Visibility: Ensure every Snipe event, from a local club race to a major National Championship, gets maximum visibility among Snipe sailors worldwide.
• Support Travel: Help sailors plan international and domestic travel to regattas, promoting participation across borders and fleets.
• Show Class Strength: Present a powerful, unified picture of the Snipe Class’s global activity to the broader sailing community.

This is in your best interest and in the interest of all of us, Snipe sailors.

Coordinate Your Efforts for Better Results

To ensure better coordination and accurate aggregation of data:

• We kindly ask Fleet Captains to communicate their local Fleet calendars to their respective National Secretaries.
• We also urge National Secretaries to transmit their compiled National calendars to their respective General Secretaries for their Hemisphere (so they can have a global vision of the racing schedule in each country and Continent).

This streamlined communication path is vital for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the final global calendar.
