1937, Snipe Regatta in Italy

A very rare footage of a Snipe regatta (with other classes like Dinghy 12′, Classe nazionale A and 5.9), sailed on the Adriatic Sea in 1937.

We can say it was on the Adriatic Sea, probably in Romagna or Veneto, because we can see a traditional Adriatic sailing boat “”bragozzo” and the typical sandy coastline on the background.

In the same year, 1937, The first edition of the Snipe Italian Nationals was held in Genova Sturla (on the Tyrrhenian Sea, on the other coast) and won by Pietro e Nico Reggio on “Oly”.
