SnipeToday Snipe Racing Photo Award – Final Results

The “SnipeToday Snipe Racing Photo Award” is a photographic contest. It seeks to recognise the very best Snipe racing photo taken during the year 2023, and that which best represents the real essence of Snipe racing. In this way we intend to promote our Class through the most beautiful images of 2023.

The photo with the most “Likes” is the one that portrays Henrique Brites and João Pontes from Portugal. This photo was taken by João Saraiva Mendes during the 2023 Portuguese Junior & Under 30 Nationals in Cascais.

Henrique is one of the best and most talented Snipe sailor of the new generation. His crew is a great ILCA 6 sailor (as you can see from hiking). And of course here we are in Cascais, a race venue famous for the strong winds, the big waves and tons of water on your face!

Our followers clearly chose this photo as the winner of the contest. Congratulations!!!

Editor’s Note: This contest does not want to choose the best photographer or the best photo from a technical and artistic point of view. It is a popular survey in which everyone votes according to his/her personal preferences, considering, in most cases, the bonds of friendship with the sailors portrayed, the organizers or the photographer. Snipetoday appreciates the work of the best sailing photographers regardless of the result of this survey. Certainly we forgot to include some very beautiful photos among the 50 photos of the list. In addition, some photographer, if asked, would have chosen other photos to represent his/her work, instead of those chosen by us. We apologize for this reason with them, hoping that they still understand the spirit of this contest.
