Jan Anton was a prominent figure in the Norwegian Snipe fleet during this era. Before moving to Portland, Maine, in 1962 to continue his career as a sailmaker, he became a Norwegian Snipe National Champion and a member of the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club (KNS).
Jan continued to sail and make sails in the United States for the rest of his life. He “cast off” for the last time this past February at the age of 85. (source: Mie Pedersen – Snipeseiling I Bærum)
