All Japan Intercollegiate Championship – Day 1
Enoshima, Japan, October 31, 2025
Enoshima, Japan, October 31, 2025. The 90th All Japan Intercollegiate Championship (Inter-College) has begun at Enoshima. Twenty-four schools each, in the 470 Class and the Snipe Class, who won their respective regional qualifiers, are competing. Attention is focused on whether Waseda University, which is currently seeking its sixth consecutive overall victory, will extend its record, or if another university will emerge to stop them.
The first day brought a chilly morning with temperatures at 16∘C. While some athletes proceeded with their usual preparations at the harbor, others showed signs of nervousness. Support staff, alumni, and graduates encouraged these sailors before sending them off to the sea.
On Day 1, Nippon University, the Kanto Inter-College champion, demonstrated its strength once again on the national stage.
In the Snipe Class, Nippon University initially took the lead based on finish order, but after a protest and scoring adjustment by the Technical Committee, Waseda University moved into the top spot.
In the Overall Standings, Nippon University holds the lead. With a forecast of a southerly wind—the opposite of the first day—for Day 2, will the rankings see a shift?
