Who is Ivan Pimentel?

Ivan was a 4-time Brazilian Class Champion. A notable detail is that each title was won in a different decade (1978, 1983, 1993, and 2002). He was a 2-time Western Hemisphere and Orient Champion (1978 and 1988). He was also a 2-time Master World Champion (1987 and 1989). He won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis in 1987. Ivan also excelled in other classes, including Sharpie, Soling, 470, J24, and Laser.

Ivan is perhaps even better known as a great mentor and trainer of sailors who passed through his care. This is an endless list of champions.

He was also a coach and team leader for several Olympic and Pan American teams, and a manufacturer of sails and boats.
