Snipe Paradise

One week before the beginning of the Trofeo Armada Española – Trofeo Azor ambiental, there are almost 70 entries from 7 countries for Snipe Class. This is quite an example of well done work.

There are a lot of factors that make this possible: organizing authority, race area and club, all of them involved in organizing fantastic Snipe regattas.

The first out of them is D. Francisco Ginés Pérez, President of the RCRSR that is driving the regatta organization to a limit that, for the rest, is unbeatable with only one simple idea: Snipe sailors have to feel that they are at home in RCRSR. And I can claim that that this idea is absolutely accomplished. Only one word from me in return: Congratulations, President.

The rest of the regatta organization rounds about the President´s idea and the people he has surrounded with share it.

On the other hand, we find Mauricio: the friendly face. You will never hear the word “NO” from his mouth. From him, everything is ok or I will do my best to get what you need. And he never disappoint. Again: Congratulations, Mauricio.

We can continue with Azor Ambiental, and the man behind Antonio Gil, the support that make possible to carry out all of this. This year, the entry fee is 50€ including social events and accommodation. Even more, if you are coming from 600 km or more away, they subsidize your fuel costs.

I know that I forget people really involved in organizing the regatta: Race Committee, Protest Committee, club personel, etc: Thank you all.

Can you imagine a better place, better people and better club to share a weekend? Easy answer.

The results: high level competition and high level atmosphere. Does it mean something for you?: Yes, it is so similar to Serious sailing, serious fun.

We have to remember that Trofeo Armada Española is not a qualification or National Championship. Only a regatta for friends.
RCRSR has sent a clear message about how to organize a success regatta. I think that currently it is the best club in the world to hold Snipe regattas. The real Snipe Paradise.

And now, I want to send a question to all:

Do you think that making Europeans, or other Major Regatta, OPEN will improve the entries?

The problem is not the number of entries to each country. The problem is the help given to competitors.

So, why to change rules instead of change the regatta conditions? Another easy answer: It is easy to change rules. The easy way.
