Tonight was the opening ceremonies for the 70th Japanese Snipe National Championship. It was incredible. The past Champion returns the trophy so it can be presented to the 2017 champion. It was an honour to have Past Commodores Matsumoto and Yamamoto in attendance. SCIRA presented a Snipe half model, made by Mariano Arroyo from Argentina, to the Japanese Snipe Class in recognition of the 70th anniversary of this National Championships. The setting for this event was beautiful with Mount Fuji in the distance. Tomorrow the racing starts.
