How to sail in the UK Nationals & Open Championships as your warm-up for the Worlds!!

For those living in Northern Europe who would like to break up their very long journey to Cascais in Portugal – there is a way!!

The Worlds in Cascais are from 19^th – 25^th August 2022

The UK Nationals are 12^th – 14^th August 2022

There is a Brittany Ferry leaving Plymouth going to Santander, Northern Spain on Wednesday 17^th August (£573 including trailer plus accommodation).  This ferry arrives in Santander on Thursday 18^th at 13.15.  The drive to Cascais from Santander is approx. 10 hours.  This means you will be in Cascais in time for weighing and measuring!!

Not only will it cut out a good few hours of driving, the ferry is a mini cruise with cinema, bar and restaurants allowing you to relax rather than drive!!

You can take a ferry to the UK from Calais to Dover (£301 DFDS including trailer) please note, the Hook of Holland ferry is no longer running. The drive from Dover to Plymouth is approx. 5 hrs. Have a week in Plymouth of sailing and partying, mini cruise to Santander, enjoyable drive to Cascais – all relaxed and prepared for the Worlds!!

 The UK Nationals will have 2 Races Friday 12^th, 3 Races Saturday 13^th and 2 Races Sunday 13^th.  Friday night there will be a rooftop BBQ with live music and Saturday evening is a Pirate Themed dinner (bring your outfit!) and games evening.
