The MSI was first organized in 2012.   In 2025,  thirty – six teams with sailors from eight countries participated.​

The MSI welcomes all sailors under 31.  Sailors new to the Snipe and/or needing to charter, must apply and be accepted to the event.  It is open to all experienced Snipe sailors bringing their own boats. Spots are limited.​

The Friday clinic has two groups – sailors new to the Snipe and experienced Snipe sailors. Practice races for all begin at 3:00 on Friday.  

Races are held on Saturday and Sunday. Coaching is provided to all new and novice teams during the regatta, during and between races (Snipe specific coaching only, not tactics).

Laser/ILCA sailors and those who like to hike are highly encouraged to apply.
