2004 Snipe Eastern European Championship
The VIII Traditional Moscow Sailing Regatta and Snipe Eastern European Championship were held in May 24-30.
Seven races at wind strength of 5 to 25 knots were completed.
There were altogether 27 boat crews who participated in the event. They came from four countries: Belarus, Republic of Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.
Russia was represented by six cities: Moscow, Orel, Yekaterinburg, Toliatti, Yaroslavl and Lipetsk.
Among the competitors there were also five female crews, the best of which, Yekaterina Bessonova and Alexandra Sokolova, finished in place 5.
The winners were helmsman Maxim Semerkhanov and crew Ivan Kolinko, who won the first three races in strong wind. Maxim Semerkhanov is preparing for Laser racing at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
The Chairman of the International Jury was Per-Ole Holm from Finland and a most sincere thanks goes to him for a wonderful job.
