1999 Lake Cachuma Regatta Results

Another weekend of great sailing at Lake Cachuma. Warm temperatures, strong steady breezes, and a competitive 14 boat fleet. We were missing some of the regulars, but fortunately several first timers made the trip. The fleet included boats from as far away as San Diego and San Francisco.

The Wall wasn't very cooperative this year, it preferred to trick and tempt us into blunders. Maybe the high water has altered the dynamics. Gavin and Nathaniel both got in some pretty good rides up the shore, and there were some exciting four boat convergences at the exit point.

Heavyweights Randy Lake, with crew Mark Barra sailed consistently fast, flat and smart to win followed by the O'Hares. Kent Sisk earned the Hard Luck award, again! Thanks to Jack Hutsing and family for running this year after year.
