Lisa has been sailing Snipes since 1986, both as skipper and crew. She sailed for Florida State University 1980-1984. In addition to competing in the two previous Women's Worlds in Japan (11th) and Spain (2nd), she has served on the SCIRA Board from 1994-1997 and been the regatta chairman for the 1990 US Nationals. Carol Newman Cronin's first Snipe regatta was in Annapolis in 1990, and she has posted a few Midwinter and North American victories as a crew since then. The Women's Worlds will be only her second event as a Snipe skipper, and she's enjoying all the room in the back of the boat! She runs two businesses out of her house, rigging boats in the summer and writing and desktop publishing in the winter.

Jerelyn has been sailing since she was born, but began sailing her own boat at age 7 (Sabot). She began sailing Snipes at 13 and sailed intercollegiately for UCLA as a member of the 1978 ICYRA National Championship team. She competed as crew in the two prevous Women's Worlds in Japan & Spain and was awarded the San Diego Area Yacht Club yachtswoman of the year 1997. She and her husband Sean have 2 boys - Graham 12, Cameron 10. In her "Day Job", she is the SCIRA Executive Director.

Pam Kelly from Coconut Grove, Florida sailed in two Optimist World Championships: Italy '82, and Brazil '83. In 1985 she won the National Junior Women's Regatta (Nancy Leiter Clagett Trophy) in Laser Radials. She sailed for Connecticut College from 1986-1987 and for the University of Florida from 1988-1990. Pam placed 10th in the US Europe Dinghy Olympic Trials in 1992. She has been sailing Snipes off and on with her husband Ed Kelly for the past 2 years, and crewed for Augie Diaz in the Snipe Nationals this year where they placed 2nd in the Heinzerling series.

Michele started sailing in the late 70's doing "big boat" offshoreAnnapolis/Ft. Lauderdale deliveries with friends. She was introduced to the Snipe in 1982 when her then boyfriend Charlie sailed up to a spectator boat in Nassau, kicked his crew off the snipe and said, "I want my girlfriend on this boat". Michele and (now husband) Charlie sailed with the Miami fleet until 1995. Now in NC, she misses beautiful Biscayne Bay, but enjoys traveling to many different venues with lots of competion. She and Charlie will be representing the US in their second WH in Enoshima, Japan this Nov. Other Accomplishments:

When I was a freshman , I joined Senzokugakuen (Jcollage yachting club. I have also continued yachting after graduation. Four years ago I entered the 1st women's world championship in Japan, two years ago I received 13th prize in Spain at the 2nd championship. This world be my third time. I would like to keep entering this competition after this time. My real job is a Flutist (playing and teaching). I hope to have a chance to play at the regatta.

Jennifer has sailed Snipes since 1983. Her most recent win was at the 1998 US Womens Nationals, where she topped a tough fleet in difficult conditions. She grew up racing on Long Island Sound and sailed for the University of Rhode Island. Jennifer crewed in the 1986 Western Hemispheres as well as skippered in the first US Womens Nationals in 1997.

She sailed for the College of Charleston with Molly Alexander as her crew. She received All American Honorable Mention two times.

In exchange for sharing the helm with her husband this year she bought a Byte to singlehand. This is her Snipe debut.
