Transportation to the Regatta

Annapolis is accessible through 3 major airports:

• Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Airport - at 30 miles (50 km), it is the closest airport to Annapolis. Transportation from BWI to Annapolis is available by shuttle, rental car, or taxi. Attempts will be made to pick up competitors who desire it.
• Washington National Airport - Approximately 45 miles (75 km) from Annapolis, Washington National is located in the heart of Washington, DC. The primary transportation from Washington National to Annapolis would be by rental car. It is also possible to take a subway to within 25 miles ( 42 km) of Annapolis, and then take a taxi to Annapolis.
• Washington Dulles - Approximately 90 miles (150 km) from Annapolis. A rental car is the only transportation option from this airport via rental car.

The closest train station to Annapolis (serviced by Amtrak) is also located at the Baltimore/Washington Airport. Shuttles are available from the train station to the airport where shuttles and rental cars are available. Amtrak service at BWI services all major East Coast cities. New York City is a 3 hour train ride from the BWI station.

SHIPPING BOATS:

For shipping containers, several options are available. The closest is the Port of Baltimore, located approximately 40 miles (67 km) from Annapolis. Other ports within a 3-4 hour radius are the ports of Newport News, Virginia; Wilmington, Delaware; and Port Elizabeth, New Jersey.

• Immediately after leaving the airport, take Aviation Boulevard West (right).
• Follow signs for Satellite Parking.
• Take Aviation Blvd to I-97 South (left off Aviation Blvd).
• Stay on I-97 for about 20 miles to Route 50 East.
• From Route 50, take exit 24 onto Rowe Boulevard.
• Follow directions below.

• take exit 24, Rowe Boulevard

• take exit 24A, Rowe Boulevard

• Follow Rowe Boulevard towards Annapolis to the end.
• Turn right into College Avenue.
• Merge onto Church Circle.
• Turn right of the circle onto Duke of Gloucester Street (fifth street off circle)
• Follow to stop sign and turn right to go over the Spa Creek Bridge.
• Turn left at the first light onto Severn Avenue
• Go down Severn to First Street and turn left onto First Street.
• Severn Sailing Association is at the end on the right.
