Day 3 - Final
It looked pretty grim at noon on the third day of the regatta. The fleet
sailed out to the course in a dying northeasterly, which eventually
went to zero. But, finally the sea breeze that caused the back to the NW
on day 2, started up. After waiting some time for the breeze to settle in
the 5th race was started. The breeze continued to build up to about 15 by
the end of the second race. The completion of the second race allowed a drop.
Appologies for not getting the final results up yesterday, but after a late finish and coming out on top of the tight 5th thorough 10th group on top, this reporter did not feel like spending any time "nerding out" on the laptop in the parking lot.
Day 2
George Szabo and Carol Newman were very fast today winning both races and with a throwout
(assuming 2 races tomorrow) will top the scoresheet. Nonetheless, Tyler
Moore/Sam Rosemont are still leading counting all scores with a 6/4 today.
Places 5-10 are very close, separated by only 2 points.
The weather today was beautiful, with bright sunshine, temperatures around 70 and 10-15 knots from the NE backing to the NW at the end of the first race.
Day 1
Sam Gets her guy aroung the course!
Veteran Snipe crew Samantha Rosemont and Snipe newcomer, former college sailor of the year Tyler Moore lead after races one and two on the first day of the Midwinters in Clearwater. The practice race yesterday was cancelled due to high winds, but today's races were held in 5-15 knots from the NNW with chilly temperatures in the 60's.
