This took place on August 15-16,1998 in almost perfect wind conditions. Saturday was a little shifty with winds from 8 to 20 knots, and everything in between. Saturday evening included dinner with candlelight and embarrassing sea-stories of Snipe adventures. Sunday the wind was a little slow in cooperating, but then steadied at 10-15 knots. When it was all said and done Gene Soltero took the Ed Kueck trophy for the fourth time since 1980. Some sailors, like fine wine, just get better! Great conditions, good friends and a marvelous facility and hot competition. It just does not get any better. Put Grand Lake on your schedule for 1999.
See you same time, 3rd week-end in August, same place next year.
