Here are the results of the XXVIII Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofia
celebrated last week in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
After 8 races, run under 20 knots four of them, and 10-15 the rest, and
incredibly good sailing conditions, the results were as follows:
1.- Damian Borras/Javier Magro (my hero): 10 points.
2.- Gustaf Svensson/Lennart: 16 "
3.- Fredrik Segerstrom/Carl Terneus: 14 "
4.- Patrik Jonsson/Rickard Oberplicher: 37 "
5.- Juan Magro/Toyo Sintes 45 "
Until 28 competitors.
As mentioned above, the sailing conditions were fantastic, and the
organization was at a good level. The only inconvenience, in my opinion,
is that an unusual race system was used, since in each race, we had two
upwinds, two downwinds and two reaches, finishing the rece when we
sailed on a reach.
The other point was that the previous week, the Spanish Cup was
celebrated in the Canary Islands, and some good sailors, such as
Fernando Rita, could not be in Palma.
The Trophy was clausured by the incredible Prize-giving ceremony,
conducted by the Royal Hihgness the King of Spain, and after that, all
sailors of all classes met along the night at the antique part of Palma.
