1995 Gull Lake Open
Gull Lake, Richland, Michigan
August 5th and 6th, 1995

Three races were sailed on Sunday in 3-5 knots of breeze.
Unfortuantely (or fortunately if you were on the relaxed program) the
breeze did not materialize on Saturday so all racing was on
Sunday. "Camp VanderMolen", named after fleet starter and regatta
organizer Tom Vandermolen, was a lot of fun as the participants swam,
played golf ("put for show, pitch for dough"), sailed, played full
contact basketball (with a 7' hoop that can be jammed!) and libated. A
little rain spoiled the croquet games on Saturday afternoon
though. Terry McSweeney won the $87 pot in the pitch for dough
conest. This is the upcoming "must go to at any expense from all parts
of the country" regatta. Good sailing and a heck of a lot of fun extra
curricular activity!

Stay tuned for a full report from regatta chairman Tom VanderMolen.
