Marion is located on the door step of Cape Cod, roughly equidistant from Providence, RI and Boston, MA. The two closest airports are T.F. Green Airport just south of Providence (code PVD), about 50 miles and Logan Internation Airport in Boston (code BOS), about 60 miles. Ground transportation from any of the closest airports to Marion is pretty much limited to car rentals as there is no bus, train, or shuttle service to the area.
From Providence:
Green Airport has become a very popular air destination, transforming in the last 5 years from a sleepy regional airport to a major national airport, but without the size and crowds of other national/international airports. It is serviced most heavily by Southwest Airlines, but also Continental, US Airways, Delta and United. Lines are generally not too long here so it's about as hassle free as can be.
Southwest flights from the San Diego ($200-$400), St. Louis ($200-$300) and Tampa ($180-$300) and Ft. Lauderdale are quite inexpensive if you book early. You might want to sign up for Southwest's Click 'n SaveŽ E-mail Updates and keep an eye on the specials they run for the best deals. We recommend that you fly into Green assuming you can get air fares that work for you.
Green is serviced by all the major car rental companies and the cars are located on site, so picking them up is easy and doesn't take very long especially if you have a lot of gear. The drive from Green is pretty painless in general. During rush hour on Friday evening you might experience some commuter traffic going through Providence and some additional traffic going to the Cape, but nothing major.
Another possibility is Bradley Ariport in Hartford, CT, the second largest airport in New England. It is about 150 miles from Marion.

From Boston:
Boston is slighly farther away by about 10 miles as the crow flies. But as Humphrey Bogart says in the Treasure of Sierra Madre: "We aint crows". Logan Airport is a major international airport that is serviced by virtually all the air carriers and rental car companies. The major drawback to flying into Boston is the potential for crippling traffic caused primarily by "The Big Dig", the burying of an elevated six-lane highway called the Central Artery that runs through the center of downtown. This project has a significant effect on the traffic patterns in and out of Logan Airport. There may also be some significant traffic down towards Marion as Cape Cod is a popular weekend destination of the suburban Boston crowd.
Another possibility is to fly into Manchester, NH Airport, which is a "TF Green like" regional airport, albeit slightly smaller (this is a good thing). Like Green Airport, Manchester has a lot of cheap Southwest Airlines flights. Eventhough it is easier to get in and out of, you still have to navigate the Boston traffic nightmare, or you can go around Boston to the west on I-95/128, but there will be commuter traffice and it will add another 1-1/2 hours to the 1 hour drive from Boston to Marion.
