Snipe No. 9. Built in 1933, this is one of the earliest Snipe Class
sailboats in existence. She has a carvel wooden planked hull with seams
needing no caulking, wooden spars including whisker-pole, all standing
and running rigging, and a metal centerboard. No sails, but being a
class boat, they are easily obtainable new or used (Egyptian cotton
would finish this little boat out nicely). Wooded down and ready for new

She is red cedar planked
on white oak frames with a mahogany keel, canvas deck, oak trim, 7 year
old spruce mast, and 5 year old sails. The deck is white, the hull is
forest green with dark red below the water line. The transom is
varnished mahogany. The interior is light gray. She has been stripped to
bare wood inside and out and entirely repainted/revarnished in stages
over the past 5 years. She comes with a trailer. Although she is an
older boat and has been sailed a lot, there is no rot left on her that I
know of (I have replaced two planks), and she is sturdy and completely
sailable as well as being really beautiful. Unfortunately she is
currently living in a garage in Worcester Massachusetts. Best offer.
