District V Championship - Open

     Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club will host the District V Championship this 

year on July 22-23. This great venue is on beautiful Lake Chautauqua, and 

boasts two hoists, two separate launching ramps, mens and womens locker 

rooms with showers, plus a snack bar, bar and restaurant for dinners. 

     The regatta is open to all SCIRA snipe sailors; over-all trophies are 

awarded to the best 5 boats. District championship trophy goes to best 

District finisher. 

     Regatta Chair Jane Gram will be happy to e-mail motel information and 

answer any of your questions about the venue. Camping is not permitted at 

the club, but nearby campgrounds are available. 

     Last year the weather was perfect, strong winds on Saturday with lots 

of sunshine. Our district does not start a race after 1pm on Sunday, so 

competitors are assured plenty of time to explore Chautauqua or head home.
