Women's, Juniors' and U.S. Snipe Nationals Championships

Members of the Oklahoma City Boat Club will meet you at the gate to welcome you to the 53rd U.S. Snipe Nationals. Expected weather conditions is 72 to 90 degrees with winds out of the south at 10 to 18 m.p.h. Lake Hefner is on the notheast side of Oklahoma City, 1/1/2 miles from the Marriott Hotel. The phone number for the $69.00 room reservation is 1-800-228-9290. Ask for the special rate for the 2000 Snipe Nationals. Cut off date for the reservations is June 23,2000. Driters are 10% of the time in July but the waterr is fresh and you can leave your kelp sticks and home according to the National Weather Service.The reason for mooving the event to early July is the expected weather in August is winds out of the south at 5 to 10 with 30% chance of drifters and temperatures between 80 to 100. This was a good enough reason for me.



Friday July 7,2000 12:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Steve Stewart and his seven little helpers will open for measurement for the Women and Juniors Competitors.



Saturday July 8, 8:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. Welcome Competitors, Registration, Measurements.

                 9:00A.M. Skipers Meeting for Women and Juniors-Juniors and Juniors-Seniors

                 10:30A.M. Women, Jumiors 1st Race

                 1:30 P.M. Women, Juniors 2nd and 3rd race

                 6:00 P.M. Cajan Watt Duffy is the chef for the night and is cooking 100 pounds of Crawfish Cajun style with potatoes and vegetables. Hamburgers and watermelon will be available for sissy sailors.

              10:00 A.M. Board of Governors Meeting in U.S. Nationals Secretarys' Presidential Suite, Marriott Hotel

              6:00 P.M. Opening Ceremonies U.S. Nationals Fleet 14 Welcomes Competitors with Raising of Old Glory and sailors singing.
